2019 Team Texas Takes Silver Medal

by Keith Andresen

Team Texas has Captured the Silver Medal at this years Americas Showcase.  This is the best ever finish for Team Texas! After losing to Team Illinois in the Preliminary Round 7-3, Team Texas nipped Illinois 3-2 in OT in the semi-final to reach the Championship Game.  Unfortunately after playing three OT games in 2 days there was not much gas left in the tank and Team Texas lost to the pre-tournament favorite, Pittsburgh in the Championship.  Congratulations to Team Texas!

This prestigious Showcase is designed to allow high school hockey players from around the country, who do not traditionally get scouted due to geographic and budgetary constraints within the scouting circles, the opportunity to compete against the best of the best during a five-day period and be seen by every major hockey institution in North America. Players from past teams have been exposed to coaching and scouting and fielded offers from many different levels of advanced teams – from colleges to juniors.

This April, 24 boys' teams from across the United States representing 43 States will compete and showcase their talents to scouts from all over the North American Continent. See the Texas Roster here. 2019 Team Texas Showcase Roster
