Northwest and Prosper win City Championships

Northwest added the Varsity Gold city title to their State Championship by defeating Keller 4-2.  Northwest took a 2-0 lead late into the 2nd period but with under a minute to go Keller scored to cut the lead to 2-1.  Just 22 seconds later Northwest scored to take a 2-goal lead into the 3rd.  With the goalie pulled, Keller fought hard and scored with 1:19 left to get within a goal but with 35 seconds left, Northwest scored on the empty net to put the game away and claim the Championship. Northwest will be heading to the USAH National Championship later this month in Pennsylvania.

Prosper took home the Varsity Silver crown by defeating Southlake Carroll 4-0.  Prosper edged by top seeded Frisco East in the semi-final to advance to the Championship game.  In the final Prosper controlled the play throughout most of the game and scored twice in the 1st period to take control of the game.  Congratulations to Prosper.
