Super Sunday Championships

The AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League concluded its season with 6 Championship games on Sunday March 9th.  Congratulations to the Champions!

VARSITY SILVER GREEN-SOUTHLAKE CARROLL

Southlake finished their magical playoff run by defeating 2nd seed, Odessa 6-2.  The Dragons were led by Brendan Flowers hat trick and solid goaltending by Cayden Siemen.  Congratulations Southlake.


VARSITY SILVER WHITE-TULSA

The 4th seeded Oilers knocked off top seeded Austin in the semi-finals and then defeated 2nd seeded Allen in the final to claim the Varsity Silver-White Championship.  It was a team effort as 5 different players scored in the final with only a late goal allowed by Daxton Bailey in the 5-1 win.  Congratulations Tulsa.


VARSITY BRONZE-SHREVEPORT

Shreveport concluded an undefeated season with a 5-2 win over Keller to claim the Varsity Bronze crown.  The Mudbugs dominated play with Landon Kay scoring twice to lead the way.  Congratulations Shreveport.


JUNIOR VARSITY-PROSPER

Prosper rebounded from an early 2-0 deficit to score 4 unanswered goals to defeat a tough Birdville squad 4-2 to win the Junior Varsity Championship. Brady Savage picked up a hat trick including the game winning goal late in the 2nd period and an insurance goal with just over 2 minutes left to clinch the Championship.  Congratulations Prosper.


JV BRONZE GREEN-HIGHLAND PARK

Highland Park withstood a furious comeback by Birdville to claim the JB Bronze Green Championship 4-3 in overtime.  When the Scots scored to make it 3-0 early in the 3rd, the game seemed to be over.  However, Birdville didn't give up, scoring 3 goals in just under 8 minutes to send the game to OT.  Beckett Costabile scored his second goal of the game, early in OT to claim the crown for HP.  Congratulations Highland Park.

JV BRONZE WHITE-DENTON COUNTY

In another overtime thriller, Denton County defeated Shreveport 6-5 to win the JV Bronze White Championship. Stanton Grayson scored all 6 goals for the Spartans and led all playoff scoring with 8 points.  The game was tied early in the 3rd when Shreveport scored twice in 13 seconds to take a 5-3 lead.  DC responded with a goal a minute later and then tied it with just over 2 minutes left in the 3rd.  It took 10 minutes of OT, but the Spartans got the winner with just under 5 minutes left in the extra frame.  Congratulations Denton County.
